“Yesterday, in a school in Bucharest, a kid (18 years old) got stabbed with a sword by two students (19 years old), during the religion class.”
That’s how all the newspapers describe the event. Well they are really stupid or they are just looking to get more attention and dramatise the event. In an interview with one of the school representatives (this was yesterday evening and I was watching the news so I heard what the man said), it was said loud and clear that the victim was not stabbed, he got a scratch, nothing serious. It wasn’t during the religion class, so the teacher wasn’t present at the time. The assault happened during lunch time, in the classroom where there weren’t any security cameras.
The news people are just trying to give half the blame on the teacher. That is wrong (in my opinion), and I’m not just saying that teachers are always innocent, I’m just saying that this time it was a fight between some students in the last year of high school. One of them brought a friend which also had a sword and they were just trying to threaten the victim, you know, intimidation tactics. The victim isn’t entirely innocent, I mean, you don’t get beaten up for nothing, and I’m more then sure that his big mouth got him into trouble.
If I was in the school council I would just kick them out of the school and get over with it. They are all legally adults so they can go to jail, but in a country where if you steal something you get 15 years, but if you kill someone you get just 2 to 10 years (maximum), I doubt they will do anything about it.
