Meet Ela

Yup, I’ve started another war at home: I came home with a kitten.

Ela sleeping in her pink box

Isn’t she pretty? She’s almost two months old and I’m not sure if she was the lucky kitten in her litter or not.

What I mean is that I am not sure if I’ll be able to keep her. It’s quite simple: I started a new fight with my parents who dislike having pets in their house.

It’s quite sad, but then again I’m going on the same war path I did with Johnny. What’s this war path? Well, when I was first dating Johnny my parents didn’t like having him stay the night over. In fact there were some pretty serious fights on this subject (with my parents and his). But after 7-8 months or so, they got used to having Johnny over and now after almost 4 years Johnny has a key to the house.

So, I know that my parents don’t like this little kitten now but I’m hoping that in time they’ll get used to her. I’ll just have to survive these few weeks.

Just so you know, I’m not very optimistic about this but fingers crossed and hope that mother won’t give the cat away while I’m at work.

Suzi in slow motion

I don’t know if I mentioned this but Suzi is on the chubby side. She does get some exercise with me and Johnny playing with her, but she mostly sleeps.

While some may argue that it might not be healthy for her I can only dream of having her life: eating, sleeping, playing and scratching people if my requests are not meet. Blissfulness!!!

Yup, she lives the good life. And just for our entertainment here’s how Suzi rolls from one side to another:

"Too sunny, going to turn around"

Yup, that’s her belly.

"Now just a little more and I'll be on the other side"

She’s so lazy that she won’t keep her eyes open. That or maybe the sun really annoys her.

"Almost there"

Just a little bit more

Close enough!

Yup, she’s a cat alright.

Mr. Cat

I’ve been a prolific poster these past few months. I don’t know how I managed but I just seem to always have something to post. It might be luck but I hope I keep up the pace.

So, let me introduce Mr. Cat from the country side.

Mr. Cat is also a prolific cat. He’s really good at catching mice and he’s a mellow cat. Loves to be petted and by God he can purr like a car engine. Not only that, but he seems to love me. Which is really a good thing because I love him too, not only that but he’s such a good cat. He isn’t bothered by me aka the crazy person that always shoves the camera in his face.

And I did shove the camera in his face for 20 minutes or so. And I was only to obtain one decent photo:

This must be one of my best photos so far. It was hard work but it was worth it. I also uploaded it on Flickr and on the Poc and Poch gallery (for the original resolution go to the gallery). I actually can’t wait to go back to the country side for another photoshoot with Mr. Cat. But don’t think that Mr. Cat works for nothings. Last time he ate half of the meat of my plate. Just don’t tell that to anyone, because my parents might make me a vegetarian.

I’ll be gone till November

I wish!

Instead I’ll be gone till next week. That’s better than nothing. I am currently charging the battery from my camera, charging my phone and thinking how the hell I will stay awake tonight. Yup we’re taking the night train so we won’t catch the daytime heat. Also we are trying to avoid wasting half a day because it will be a 5 hours train trip.

It’s my first time taking the train during night time and I am a bit wary of it. I’ve had a few bad experiences with trains during day time and even at first class so I’m not sure what to expect. I am pretty much sure Johnny will fall asleep because he always falls asleep on trains. Oh well it isn’t healthy to dwell on such things because you can never tell what will happen. That and I’m pretty sure no energy drink will keep me awake considering they have no effect on me.

We’re not going to the mountain side nor to the sea side. We’re going up north to visit Johnny’s relatives and basically we’re going to have a rural vacation. I am very happy about it because I’m sick and tired of the city and I would really like some moments for myself. I even packed two books and on my MP3 player I have 5 or 6 audio books. And that’s all the entertainment I’ve packed with me.

But there’s one thing I wish to do: take lots of pictures.

I haven’t been as active with my photography and I really miss taking pictures of cats and dogs. But even animals won’t come out during the day especially on this heat.

Oh well, speaking of cats here’s a sweet video of two cats playing:

I’ve just remembered, this week I almost bought a cat. Well Johnny almost bought me a cat to be more precise. We were in the mall and decided to visit the pet shop and there was a girl playing with a furball. It was a 3 month old British shorthair. It was huge for a kitten but it was a male kitten so it made sense. I can only imagine how big that cat will grow. I really fell in love with it but the price and my parents overpowered my desire for a pet.

How could you not love these furballs. Oh well, hope this day will pass fast because I really want a vacation.
