Here’s one for the album: Johnny and Pluto on a walk.
In less than 2 months the year will be over. Makes me wonder if there is something I should be doing. After all, we all strive to finish as many things as we can from our to-do list.
Yet, I can’t seem to think of anything at the moment. Sure, there are my hobbies and a few other things, but there’s nothing really important. So, here I am. Slacking around in front of the computer, looking over my latest photos.
The last flowers of the year:
The roses were pretty sad looking, but then again it did snow in October. It’s amazing they lasted so long.
And the last one is the carved pumpkin, marking the Halloween madness that has come to Romania as well.
Hopefully I will get back my Allview phone soon. It’s the second time I had to take it to the service shop, since they didn’t fix it the first time. I am getting tired of this iPhone and the picture quality.
It’s been a productive Monday. I’ve cleaned, washed, did laundry and one thing that I am very proud of, I’ve cooked.
Yup, I’ve become a housewife.
I am happy about the cooking part because I’ve cooked good food for me and John but also for Pluto and Marlanu’.Yes, I’ve cooked for our pets as well.
I’ve made homemade bread (using the bread maker my parents left behind), potatoes with chicken breast, cream and cheese. And for the pets I’ve made grits with chicken liver, hearts and gizzard (a recipe from a friend who used to be a dog trainer). Of course, I’ve only given the meat to the cat, since I don’t think the grits would do him any good.
I am not bragging or anything, but I am happy it all turned out good. After all, it is a rare sight to see Johnny eat the food I make. I am also happy that my parents are not into technology and that they left behind a lot of useful things, like the bread maker.
It’s a small loaf of bread but it turned out really good. And we know exactly what went into making it so we don’t have to worry about the quality.
For the main course, I’ve looked up recipes on LaLena.ro I like this website a lot, the fact that it is in Romanian is an advantage. It has a lot of easy to make recipes. This is the recipe for today and here is the result:
I’ve cooked chicken.
I’ve made enough for 2 people. I didn’t made more since I know from experience that we throw away all the leftovers. We’ve been throwing a lot of food and that’s pretty wasteful behavior on our part.
Over all, it was a good start to the week
There are times when I wish Pluto could be like this cute puppy:
And there are times that I don’t want to train him since I like his quirky personality. I have this idea in mind, that if I take Pluto to a dog trainer he won’t be the same afterwards. That the trainer will somehow distort his personality. Yet we cannot leave him the way he is. He isn’t the worst puppy when it comes to obedience, but he isn’t great also.
So either we puppy train him at home or take him to a dog trainer. I don’t want him to know all the tricks, but I would like him to stay, wait & sit when we go for dog walks. We live in the city, the streets are crowded with cars. The nearest park is about 20 minutes away and there are others dogs in the neighbourhood. I think simple commands are the best and easiest to use.
Also, I would like him to stop eating everything he finds on the street. That is a real concern for me. There are a lot of people who dislike dogs, and I’ve heard a lot of stories about dogs being poisoned because they ate something they shouldn’t have.
We are still debating on what’s the best course of action regarding Pluto’s education.
I am not sure if puppy training your dog at home is a good idea but we will try. We just simply love Pluto to death no matter how many things he breaks. The same thing applies for Marlanu’ as well, but he doesn’t need training.
Busy day, but lovely nonetheless.
Today was the first round for the president elections in Romania. We’ve been good citizens and we already cast our vote. We were actually amazed since it was really crowded. In Romania, it’s weird to see people staying in line just to vote.
Now we have to wait for the results. Somehow, I am hoping for a good result, since it’s tiresome to live in country where the politicians are the biggest crocks. After voting, we went out for a car ride till we reached Carol Park.
There we had some fun with Pluto. It was awesome, since there were a lot of people with puppies. Pluto had a lot of fun, and seeing how he is sleeping right now, I think he got more exercise than he bargained for.
There was also an antique fair in front of the park. I didn’t buy anything expensive, just 4 rings. I would’ve bought more since there were a lot of pretty things there, but Johnny was smart enough not to take too much money with him. What can I say, I love rings.
And now, here we are. At home, each doing his own thing. Johnny’s taking a bath, Marlanu’ and Pluto are both sleeping and I’m here rambling about our day.
There are 4 movies that I can’t wait to see:
1. Penguins of Madagascar which will be released at the end of November. Meaning we will be able to see it in December.
2. The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. Same thing as the Penguind of Madagascar. We will be able to see it in December. It has become a tradition of sorts to see this movie with my brother and my sister-in-law. Hopefully they will come with us to see other movies as well.
3. The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water. For this one we will have to wait till next year. But it will be worth it!
4. Shaun the Sheep Movie. This one was a surprise. I had no idea whatsoever, until I read an article on Daily Mail.
I know for sure that with The Hobbit and The Penguins of Madagascar we will have to book the tickets well in advance. Last year, when we went to see The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, I had to reserve the tickets with one week in advance. And I was lucky. The second day after I booked the tickets, there were no more seats available in any cinema.
Hopefully, we will have a good time. As much as I love the movies, I hate going to the cinema. Every time there was someone or something that just ruined everything, e.g. the woman with the 2 yo that cried the entire How to Train Your Dragon 2, the 2 very tall guys that just happened to sit in front of us when the place was almost empty or (my favorite) when they just get so bored that they start talking during the movie.
