“In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life: it goes on.” ~ Robert Frost

Life does go on no matter what happens to us. We can either live on or just live in the past. I try to live in the present but sometimes I get gloomy. I try to kick aside this part of my mind knowing it does nothing good to my morale, but it always manages to crawl back.

But whenever the gloomy side does come out something good always happens. I think good things happen because I enjoy the small things in life, meaning it doesn’t have to be something really phenomenal to cheer me up. Low standards? No, not really. But what are the chances that something big will happen to me?

Anyway, this weekend I got a really nice surprise.

We took Marlanu’ (my cat) to the doctor to be neutered and we had to leave him there for 6-7 hours. It was really hard on my part because I was constantly worrying that things might not go well. So, I was pacing the house when I heard a bird on the balcony. At first I thought it was just a bird flying by but the noises didn’t stop.

So I went to investigate and look what I found: a swallow.

It was so gentle and it didn’t seem to fear me at all. It was so cute I asked Johnny to take a few photos of it. After the impromptu photo shoot we let her go. In a way it was a good thing Marlanu’ wasn’t at home because I’m certain that little swallow would’ve had a short life.

And that’s the little thing that cheered me up.

It may not sounds like a big thing but I don’t need big things. For me big things only bring troubles or responsibilities. Weird, right?

I also wanted to show brag about the scarf I’ve been knitting in the past few days. I made it one of my goals to knit a scarf for myself and well, I think I might finish it in a few days.

One more thing to cross of my list, but something tells me I will knit a few more things after I finish this project.

Oh, and if you want to learn to knit, here’s the YouTube tutorial I picked. The lessons are really easy and she explains things really well. Enjoy!
