December brings a comeback from T-ara. And surprise Qri and Boram have more lines in the song!

T-ara recently made a comeback on the Korean scene. Let the fun begin and see how far they can go without having a controversy or having netzines going crazy about little things and the past.

SunMi is officially back as a solo artist with her “24 Hours” MV. If anyone expected the old cute SunMi to be back, well they will have a shock.
I haven’t decided yet on the song and how much I like it. But I really do like the video, the JYP family made sure she has the best chances of making a successful comeback. I am curious to see how people will react to her comeback.

The Internet has gone crazy. SunMi will make a comeback, but not as a Wonder Girl.
I don’t know if I should feel happy or sad. I always imagined that SunMi will return to Wonder Girls after finishing her studies. But it seems they (JYP, the agency, SunMi) have different plans. It kinda made sense that she should return as a WG member. It made so much sense now since WG are doing solo promotions and SunYe is busy with her personal life (marriage, incoming baby).
Well, we won’t have the full package but at least we’ll see an old favorite.
The best part of this news is that we won’t have to wait long for it. It will all happen at the end of this month. Until then, here’s an oldie but goodie:

Roxette – Come Back Before You Leave
It seems I cannot have enough of this song. Too bad it doesn’t have an official video.

Even if the leader YoonHak is serving in the military, the rest of the members of ChoShinSung are really active.
They actually made a Korean and Japanese comeback. In Korea they made a comeback with Stupid Love and in Japan with Come Back To Me.
Both songs are really sweet and nice on the ears but, as usual, their Korean comeback has gone unnoticed by almost everyone except the fans. In fact, on AllKpop there were only 2 articles about their live performances and both of them were identical and on Soompi I couldn’t find anything. It’s just a shame.
The best sources for ChoShinSung are still the fan websites.
I do realize their song wasn’t the best out there, in fact I had a feel of listening to one of T-ara catchy songs, but it was an improvement over their last comebacks.
I won’t even mention that stupid fashion of males wearing black nails. Seriously, not a cool look.
In fact, I think they picked a really bad time to make a comeback in Korea. Sistar’s song Alone just swept all the charts and made an all kill, then there was the TaTiSeo trio from Girls Generations, Wonder Girls and Big Bang just made a comeback and a lot of well known artists have released a single around the same time as ChoShinSung.
They really are the underdog group of Korean Idols.
But, their Japanese comeback has been a success. This time their single Come Back To Me ranked #10 (went drown from #4) on the Oricon weekly chart. Not only that, but their DVD tops the Oricon chart and they even completed their live tour across Japan (with almost 30.000 fans in attendance).
I find it weird how they can appeal so much to the Japanese people and yet the Koreans are totally ignoring one of their most talented idol groups. This will always irk me to a certain degree.

At work I got an assignment (if you can call it that) to spell check someone’s presentation. A petty job that many people just don’t bother with and they give it to lower ranking employees (like myself). While I was checking the text for grammatical errors and trying not to laugh at some parts of it I came acrros this:
Zona de conţinut K-Pop
Daca esti fan al K-Pop, LG aduce o ofertă captivantă şi unică, K-Pop Zone, pentru divertisment nelimitat. Poţi să vezi atunci când îţi doreşti vedetele favorite în 3D, să revezi emisiunile, interviurile şi concertele tale favorite K-Pop şi să te bucuri de conţinut nedifuzat şi care nu poate fi altfel accesat.
Translation into English:
If you are a fan of K-Pop, LG brings a captivating and unique offer, the K-Pop Zone, for unlimited entertainment. You can now watch your favorite idols in 3D, re-watch TV shows, interviews and your favorite K-Pop concerts and enjoy content that otherwise isn’t accessible.
Now, before you go “Wow, you work at LG“, I must warn you I don’t! I just find this amusing, the Koreans (yes, LG is a Korean brand) are trying to make their products more appealing by using the K-Pop wave.
It’s funny how South Korea is becoming more known for its music and idols rather than its products and technology.
And just to prove that K-Pop idols are rocking the world at the moment, here’s a new colaboration: Pixie Lott feat GD & T.O.P. (from Big Bang).

Yup, they released their English single “The DJ Is Mine“! Well, they released the MV for it and that makes if official.
The video features the School Gyrls (never heard of them till now) and truthfully it’s a pretty good collaboration. I am so happy the Wonder Girls finally moved away from the retro concept. It’s not that it wasn’t a good concept, but after 3 years or so it got really tiresome.
While I was listening to it, I realised that while SoHee and Lim have their voices digitized, Yenny and SunYe voices are 100% their own. The other thing that struck me was Yoobin rapping. So far she’s been known to rap only in Korean and this is the first time that I heard her rap in English.
I guess spending a year or two in America really improved their English and singing skills.
I could talk about the School Gyrls, but truthfully, I have this built-in mechanism that stops me from approaching anything that has the Nickelodeon stamp on it. I know I’m being silly, but the Wonder Girls debuted a long time ago and even if they will have a Nickelodeon movie (Wonder Girls at the Apollo) coming out this year, they were a kpop idol group first.
And for my two cents, well the song is okay but not great. As a fan I will support them, but as a music lover I really think they will just get washed away in the vast land of bands and groups that try to make their name in the American music market.
All I can say is that I am waiting for one song that will hook me as “Nobody” did.

I just “cleaned” my MP3 player (which it’s still alive and going, thank God).
There were a lot of songs that I just lost interest in or I didn’t like from the start (me and Johnny have so different tastes in music). And I’ve added my latest obsessions on it with some old songs that I’ve missed.
Plus, I’ve found another Korean group that I’m interested in: Cho Shin Sung (English name: Supernova). The are an older group but I’ve never heard of them until I heard “TTL” (Time To Love). The song is a collaboration between Cho Shin Sung and T-ara (a rookie Korean group). I really like the song and I really like the boys in the group. Plus, they’re in my age range so I don’t feel like a pedophile for liking them.
I’ve searched for some other songs of them and I’ve found two that I really like (it’s a good thing that the music videos come with subtitles).
PS: On national television (TVR1) they are airing Korean dramas and my parents are crazy for them. I don’t think they have missed an episode. But I can’t complain cause Korean dramas are like a breath of fresh air considering all those soap operas on other channels.

I’ve found an old song that I’m just in love with. But even if I love it, I forgot about it… completely, until recently when I was listening to a Hindi song (by Salman Khan) which had the same beginning.

If I think about it, there are a lot of “old” songs that I like but just don’t listen because I forgot about them. I wonder if there’s a way to remember all the songs one loves/likes without to much hassle?
