Monday morning

It is a rainy Monday morning. I am happy to say that we have no plans for today. We don’t even have to go to work. Of course, I am officially unemployed and Johnny is on Easter holiday.

We’ve had a great weekend.

We did nothing out of the ordinary, but it was awesome nonetheless. We went to the park, where Pluto finally conquered his fear of water.

This was possible with the help of a fellow Labrador. We were actually amazed that they got along so well, considering they were both males and not sterilized. In fact, it was the very first time they meet each other.

We went to the country side. We ate to our hearts content, and enjoyed the sunny weather. Considering that today it is raining and gloomy outside, I think we were lucky. I also got a lot of tulips and some common lilac from my mom. Tulips and lilac are my favorite flowers.

Basically, we enjoyed a mellow weekend. It has been a long time since we had a weekend like this one. I cannot blame John, since he always had the weekends off. It was my who was working and couldn’t take the time off.

That shouldn’t be a problem anymore. I am free as a bird, and I do not plan on making any steps in becoming employed again till the end of the month. I have missed being free of any obligation or responsibility. I have some free time and I am going to make the most of it. Even if it feels weird right now, not having to go to work or be stressed about stuff or people.

The only stress I can get now, is from Pluto and his never ending energy.

Even if it is a gloomy Monday morning, it is a beautiful day to stay inside. I can read, clean, play with Pluto and many other things. I am going to enjoy each day at a time.

Pluto, Marlanu’ and Stitching

Pluto, Marlanu’ and stitching, make the best days off. I love spending time with my pets! I am pretty certain that they love spending time with me. We love to hang around, play, sleep and even do nothing, if possible.

But mostly we love playing.

It can be at home, when I am trying to browse the Internet for new stitching kits.

 Or, it can be outside.

But my favorite moments is when I stitch and they just lay around. Those are the moments that define our relationship, and strengthen Johnny’s belief that we are all lazy bastards. I just think that he is jealous of us, since he has to work during the day.

Even so, I am happy they allow me to indulge in one of my favorite hobbies: stitching. It has been a long time since I finished something, and I am amazed that I managed to stitch for months at just one project.

It might not look like much, but it is a pretty big stitching project. Truthfully, I was expecting to get bored of it in a couple of months. It seems that was not the case, and I have not worked on anything else. Hopefully, I will finish it till the end of summer.

I am being realistic here, since I know that there might be times when I will not have the chance to touch it.

A cold and wet winter

We’re having a very cold and wet winter. It just won’t stop raining and it’s bloody cold.

For a couple of days I had no problem with the rain. It was fun walking Pluto to the park and seeing him turn from a cute puppy into a filthy pig. He made a few friends and he was just the happiest dog ever.

We used to hang around in the park for 2 hours each day. It was so nice to see Pluto exhausted from playing and not having to worry that he’ll destroy the house (puppies tend to do that when bored). Of course, Pluto had to take a bath everytime we got  home.

Dirty Pluto

Now, nobody will let their dogs play. They don’t want them to get dirty. While I do understand that I have plenty of free time on my hands, I cannot understand why people won’t let their dogs be dogs. So what if they get dirty? You can rinse out the dirt in a couple of minutes. So what if your dog gets you dirty? Thank God for washing machines.

It really sucks, cause December started off so well. It snowed for 2 days straight.

A good way to start #December #snow #Bucharest #Romania

Everything was covered in snow and the skies were a beautiful gray color.

I was so happy. Then it started raining and it just won’t stop. So, instead of taking beautiful pictures of Pluto, snow and just us enjoying the winter holidays, we are stuck inside the house.

2 more weeks till the Christmas holidays. I want snow, lots and lots of snow. And a lil bit of sunshine if possible. Until then we shall make the most, even if we are having a cold and wet winter.

From parachuting to drawing manga

It’s not often that you find articles about manga/anime in the Romanian newspapers.

But, I had a nice surprise, because not only did I found one but the article was also featured on the cover: “De la parasutism la manga” (From parachuting to drawing manga).

Here is my rough translation of the beginning of the article:

This summer edition of the A-Camp was given the name of F.U.B.A.R., an acronym from English, used by the American military force in the second world war, which is translated by “Fouled Up Beyond Any Recognition”. The A-Camp was home of 130 young people, with ages ranging from 16 to 24 years old. F.U.B.A.R meant the growth of responsibility, the competitive spirit, of friendship.

The A-Camp members were split in six teams: The Hart team, The Tiger team, The Dragon team, The Wolf team, The Eagle team and The Unicorn team. The teams competed against each other on the whole period of their staying in the A-Camp, between 17 and 23 August…”.

After reading the entire article all I can truly say I want to go to next year. But I don’t think I can convince Johnny to come with me.  I am glad that the Anime/Manga phenomenon is growing on the Romanian youth and that there are a lot more Japanese conventions and festivals available.

Now all I wish is that I would hear about them before they actually end.

First day of school

Seeing a lot of kids in uniform, with flowers and with their parents (this are the primary school kids I’m talking about) made me to realise two things:

  1. Today is the first day of school
  2. And, from today on till the end of the school year, public transportation will be crowded not only with old people that just like taking rides but also with kids, a lot of kids.

Again, I’m so happy that I use the subway.

It still feels weird seeing children going to school, even after 4 years from finishing high school. I guess that there are still things that I miss from my “school days”, but then again there are things that I don’t miss at all. Like waking up at 6 in the morning during winter just to go to school… wait I still do that, except now I go to work and I can’t even skip a day or two. At least I don’t have to wear an uniform.

Source of pictures: This one and this one.

At least the weather is great, not to hot and not to cold. Perfect way to start a new week and a new school year. I was thinking, maybe I should pass by my old high school today, to see what’s new around there, cause I’m sure a lot of things have changed.
