I know it’s been a long time since I posted about my hobbies. But, that doesn’t mean that I’ve given up on them. I’ve started a new needlepoint project: George Dunlop Leslie – This Is The Way We Wash Our Clothes.
It’s a different theme from what I usually stitch, but I couldn’t resist the cuteness of the girl. I’ve been able to advance on it quite a bit, but only because I did the easy parts first and because I had a lot of free time on my hands. Now, I’m not sure how I’ll be able to fit in my stitching with my new schedule.
It’s a pretty big project and I’m hoping that in 2 months it will be finished. I haven’t finished any stitching projects lately (and I’ve started quite a few) and it feels like I’m not getting anywhere with them. Yet, I am hoping that this year I will finish and frame at least one of my canvases. OK, maybe not frame one (since frames are expensive), but at least have one finished project.
My only concern with this specific project is that the colors of the floss are darker than the actual painting. Now I’m not sure of how it will turn out, but I still haven’t added the light parts (since I don’t want them to get dirty). So, the overall feeling of this project might change till I finish it.
I want to finish this project, because I have a second one similar to it and I want to have the pair. That and I want to buy new stitching kits, especially with flowers, landscapes or even animals. It’s been a long time since I refreshed my stitching basket or my needlepoint projects.
